Honour God First

It is true God is present in our everyday lives. There are no restrictions to the time He blesses us or time we hear from Him. You may also agree with me that our God understands times and seasons and does things to His own timing and season so that His name may be glorified.

2020 is a Season of God’s Honour and I believe He wants us to bag His blessings as much as we can in all areas of our lives.

In view of this, I will be deceiving you if I do not remind you that you have responsibilities to ensure this promise of Honour and other promises come to pass.

First, you must love God with all your heart and allow JESUS dwell in your heart. In Matthew 22:37, Jesus declared, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind”. In verse 38, He said “This is the first and greatest commandment”. It is important to know God more than ever before. You cannot know someone very well unless you allow them in your life. As you allow this person in your life, you love them more or less based on what you discover. As for God, believe me, what you will discover about Him will make you love Him because God is awesome.

You may ask how do I get to know God so I can love Him with all my heart? The answer to this question brings me to my second counsel: You must spend time with God through the Bible. This is how you get to know Him. We read people’s biography in order to get to know who they are or what they have done or achieved. We read inspirational books written by great men and through those books, we get to know their character, way of life and much more. How much more Jehovah? As you study the word every day, it will draw you closer to God. As you study the word more, it will give you an additional benefit of direction that will help shape your destiny and give answers to many unanswered questions you may have. In Joshua 1: 8, God said to Joshua “this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”.

 Thirdly, walk with the Holy Spirit. Jesus after resurrection was addressing His disciples and He said to them in John 14 : 26 “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you”. I am aware some people cringe when they hear me say and the holy spirit told me …. But for me, it is okay because I am convinced of this promise and so I maximise and benefit from the promise of JESUS. This makes me to release myself to Him to coach, teach, instruct and guide me. If you allow the Holy Spirit, you will receive timely and divine revelations and secrets that will pave way for you, do right in all your undertakings and subsequently receive honour.

Beloved, this is how you receive your honour. You honour God first and He in turn honours you as promised in Matthew 6: 33 “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all other things shall be added to you”.

Therefore I encourage you, seek the Lord always; seek Him through His words; let the words of your mouth minister grace at all times; be kind and gentle; give to the poor and needy without holding back; do away with pride, envy and jealousy; rejoice with others when they achieve greatness or reach a milestone. Give honour to whom honour is due; respect to whom respect is due. Ensure you owe no man anything; do right by your family; cultivate wisdom for conflict resolution; be a peace maker – drawing strength from God. Do not be against God so that you will not see what it means for Him to be against you. And my God the great rewarder will honour you.

I pray we all receive the grace to walk with God more intimately in 2020 in Jesus name.

Finally, join me to speak into 2020, Our Year of Honour:

  • I shall not misbehave;
  • I will behave honourably at all times;
  • The words of my mouth and my actions becomes power that brings me honour in front of people that matters to the fulfilment of my destiny;
  • Anywhere I may want to go or may want to be, that will bring dishonour to God’s name, I refuse to go or be there;
  • Any association that will bring dishonour to the name of God through me, I break away from such; and
  • Through the strength and power of God, I prevail in 2020.

Amen!

I thank you for staying with me in 2019.

lots of love

Hannah
I love writing, singing, cooking, reading and I enjoy life. I believe that life comes in seasons and these seasons could be challenging, discouraging, joyful and when you find yourself in any of this season, embrace it, learn from it, and above all, never ever give up..
