SEED AND HARVEST TIME

I saw a disguised video of Cristiano Ronaldo, a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a forward for Spanish club Real Madrid and his Country (Portugal) national team.

He had a complete make over to his face, body, and proceeded to a square and started playing football. Some people noticed him and several did not pay attention. He was calling on people’s attention to play with him. He urged a man “a little kick, take it”, the man kicked back and went his way. “Do you think he would not play if he knew it was Ronaldo?” The footballer continued playing by himself; he stopped in front of a young woman passing by and said, “Can I have your phone number”? The woman responded “no, sorry”. I bet she would be blushing if she knew or maybe not…

It got interesting for me at this point and I kept watching.

After playing for about thirty minutes, a young man passing by, played with him for few seconds and as he leaves, Ronaldo shot the ball at him and he head it back. By this time, I noticed people had started gathering, they were starting to see something, perhaps unique about this person playing because it was obvious he was a good player. Shortly after that, a man joined him to play for real and Ronaldo dribbled him well. The camera focused on a group of young men talking, yet paying intense attention  because they were impressed at the man (Ronaldo) playing.

Finally, a young boy appeared and started playing with Ronaldo. Ronaldo encouraged the boy “show me what you can do, take it, take it”. The boy tried and Ronaldo finally ‘unveiled’ himself, signed the ball, and gave it to the little boy.  People who were just standing before brought out their phones and started recording, others took pictures.

But not until they realized who he was…..

I learnt many lessons from watching this video. The number one thing I learnt is that Children have the nature of God, simple, and non judging.  In addition, Children do not necessarily want to see what is on the inside before they engage. When you see a child, doing otherwise, then the parent or guardian needs to pay a closer attention. However, with adults mostly, Worldly things, that will perish, but not good character, which will live on, even when the exhibitor passes on, moves/attracts many people.

If we know an averagely okay person has more to offer us, we can easily decide not to identify with them but with a richer/famous person because we want to identify with the person’s success or fame. If the tide turns, and people begin to smell a breakthrough, you will see them jumping right back to the person they neglected.

Another lesson: the video reminded me of the different stages or phases of life. The moment of planting to the time of harvest. In total, it took a little over 30 minutes for Ronaldo to get a bit of attention and about an hour to get the man and little boy to engage, at the very end.

You may have planted your seed; I encourage you to wait for harvest time. Do not pluck your fruit when it is not time. Do not yearn for unnecessary attention or think your harvest is long overdue. If your seed needs time to grow, give it time. Be diligent in and dedicated to, your work, calling or cause, and soon people will start to see you have something unique to offer.

Above all, identify with a world full of good report, simplicity and good fun, irrespective of where or who it is coming from, because Identifying with good reports is a seed of righteousness.

The people you look down on today may become someone you will have to look up to ………

To You transformation

This is real. Every seed needs time to grow and the ones that take much time are the ones who will produce fruits that will last longer.
