You will reap what you sow (I)

My late mum taught me many things. One of them was that in order to emerge, you have to put yourself in that position. This conversation took place when we moved from a Government house we lived in for many years. I was young but I remember her taking me back with her the day after moving to clean up the house thoroughly. As we cleaned, she was telling me stories, encouraging me and advising me generally. One of the counsel she gave me was that there is nothing great I will become that someone has not probably been, however; it is possible that mine may be in a new dimension but I have to respect and honour those who have been there.

She gave me an interesting example. We could have moved out of the government house and leave the place for the government to clean up but it will be a wrong thing to do. She said to me because we want to have our own house one day; we have to do right by this so we can be eligible for ours. She added when you see someone rejoicing; rejoice with them so your joy can come. When you see someone achieving great things, congratulate them so that one day, people can congratulate you too. She said these on the surface without too much insight but now I know.

I try to treat everyone right so my children can be treated rightly. I take care of things put in my care so that people can automatically take care of my things in their care. Apart from this being a biblical principle, (Whatever you sow, you shall reap) I see them as the law of Nature.

Many people want to build houses, but cannot take care of the rented one they live in right now.

Someone dreams of owning a nice car but you see a good car parked, and you scratched it out of jealousy or whatever.

You want your children to meet helpers of destinies in strange lands but you cannot take care of another’s person child in your care?

You are an employee squandering your employers’ resources and you want to be an employer one day?

It does not mean you cannot achieve these things, but think of what will become of them due to the seed you are sowing now.

I want to encourage you to be a reflection of what you would like to reap or what you would want people to be or do to you because you will truly get what you want in life by being them first.

Therefore, if you want a nice house, take care of the rented one you live in now;

If you want your children to emerge, nurture them in the right way;

If you desire that your children meet helpers of destinies, be a helper to people around you in your own little way;

If you want to own a flourishing business, be faithful in all ramifications with your employer;

If you want love, show love, goodness, show goodness, and if you want people to wait on you, wait on someone…….

Your actions are seeds and in due time, they will bear fruits….

What fruit will yours’ bear?
